Updates from Mrs Norden

If you missed our email earlier in the week, our Ofsted report has now been published and can be accessed here with details from the verbal feedback accessed here. As a school, we are delighted that the inspection findings align with our own school self-evaluation, celebrating in particular how the personal development of our children underpins all we do, and has corroborated our ongoing development work.

The last few weeks of the term will be busy, and we are looking forward to our EY and KS1 productions next week. The helpful December list is below to support organisation.

Our carol concert will be held next Friday (13th) December, starting at 2.30pm and will last approximately 35 minutes. The PTA raffle will also be drawn at the end of the concert.

The concert will take place in the rear playground, so please ensure the children come to school with coats, gloves, scarves and hats to help keep them warm while outside.  Should the weather forecast be for rain, then the concert will be cancelled as we do not have the space to facilitate an indoor event.  A decision will be made by 12pm on 13th, and we will let you know by email by 12pm of the cancellation.

Entry to the event will be through the front gate, which will open at 2.25pm, so you can make your way round to the rear playground for a 2.30pm start.  You will be able to collect children at the end of the concert from the classroom outside doors, as we are likely to be finished slightly before the end of the formal school day (3.20pm).

As always, we will be finishing the concert by singing 'We wish you a Merry Christmas' and in school we have been practising the song with the Makaton signs to support our children who use Makaton to communicate.  We hope if you will be joining us for our concert that you will practise too.  Please click here to see a Youtube video of the song with signing.

We will have paper copies of the concert programme, with words for communal songs available on the day, but will send out a link next week to pre-download this to your hand-held device too.

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
