We have lots to celebrate in school over the past two weeks, Year 5 children worked hard to improve their skills in Bikeability and learn how to be safe on the roads. Well done to everyone for gaining their level 1 and 2 certificates.
World Book Day has been a amazing celebration of reading, children have enjoyed quizzes, dressing up and being in the playground parade (see the blog below), sharing books with other year groups and much more. Please continue to encourage your child to read as much at home, share a book, listen to them read and read to them (they are never too old for this). Thank you to Mrs Sprawson for all her effort in organising the event this week.
The Wonderlicious chocolate bar PTA fundraiser was a great success, many children enjoying their chocolate treat, the excitement of winning golden tickets and money raised for the school. We are grateful to the PTA for their ongoing support. Please see below details of their next fundraiser colour raffle.
Mr Jiggins took a group of children to the Centre for Computing History - Women in Computing Festival Day on Thursday, you can read more about this in the blog below.
Next week is Science Week - we have lots of things planned for the children all based around the theme 'Curiosity - what's your question?'. During this week there will be an official opening of the environment area, a project that the school council have been working on, all children will get to explore the area and complete some activities.
Parent consultations - a separate letter has been sent home about parent consultations taking place on 16th, 17th and 18th March with booking opening from 6pm on Friday 6th March.

Welcome to our ‘online safety’ advice, guidance and support page, ‘Wake Up Wednesday (WUW) - what parents / carers need to know’. Each week we will post articles of interest to our newsletter that should help you and your child.
Children regularly use different websites and apps from their parents, and it can be hard to keep up in this ever-changing digital world. These weekly updates from the National College aim to cover important topics such as online safety, mental health, wellbeing, and climate change.

Could you foster?
At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
