Updates from Mrs Norden

The weather has conspired against us again, and we are sorry you were not able to come and join us for our Coronation celebrations this afternoon.  At the time of the initial rain, just before 11am, it was a difficult decision to make as there were blue sky patches in the distance.  However, for once the various forecasts corroborated information and were accurate, and by 12.30pm it was far too wet to be outside, and the thunder provided a loud soundtrack to the remainder of lunchtime.

The children have still enjoyed a variety of activities this afternoon and will bring home a commemorative coronation badge from the PTA and a pack of seeds to grow from the Parish Council.  We thank them both for their kindness in supporting our celebration of this weekend's events and providing these mementos for the children.

Whatever your plans for the weekend, we hope you have an enjoyable time, managing a rest at some point, and if you are supporting the 'Big Help Out' we hope you have a fruitful day.

Summer Term Updates

Lateness -

We have had an increase in lateness since returning after Easter and ask that you ensure children are in school by 8.50am for registration.  Arriving late often causes children to become anxious and can mean they miss the start of teaching sessions leading to uncertainty on what to do and further worry.  Additionally, if they arrive after 8.55am they need to enter through the front entrance to adhere to safeguarding protocols, but high numbers are causing queues, miscommunication and unnecessary workload for the administrative staff.

Play equipment at drop off and pick up times

The Easter holidays brought the long awaited refurbishment of our larger play equipment, and we know the children have been very excited to its return at playtimes during which school staff assure safe play through formal supervision, a requirement of its use as our premises is not an open public space.  This is not possible to have in place during drop off and pick up times and so the children should not be using the play equipment at these times.  Please can we ask that while dropping off, and picking up, your children you support us with this and ensure they do not play on the equipment.
