Key Stage 2 School Games 2025, on a spectacularly sunny morning!

A slightly earlier start to beat the intense heat today, but everybody was working hard to earn points for their house colour.

On Monday 30th June, following weather warning guidelines, causing  a few tweaks to the schedule, KS2 were able to participate in their School Games Day, before temperatures were due to soar to over 32 degrees!

Although warm, everybody participated in all the ten zone challenges. From throwing to jumping, agility and co-ordination, speed and a fun obstacle course, lots and lots of points were earned! Everyone kept hydrated during changeovers and there were plenty of sun hats on show too. The only casualties were the sprint races, which will take place during PE lessons, as soon as temperatures start to cool.

The results were the closest in a while, and number crunchers, Mrs Durant and Mrs Leonard, were sure to double-check the final results because of this!

Sooooo... the results were:

5th place with 3693 points GREEN HOUSE

4th place with 3793 points YELLOW HOUSE

3rd place with 3967 points BLUE HOUSE

2nd place with 3995 points PURPLE HOUSE

1st place WINNERS with 4071 points RED HOUSE

On a warm morning like today, cliché or not, everyone who competed was a winner. Thank you to SVC sports leaders for their fantastic scoring and support throughout the morning.

Thank you also to the amazing number of spectators who came along to cheer the children on.

Hopefully Friday morning will be slightly cooler for the Reception / Key Stage One School Games ...
