SCSSP KS2 Sport Cup Stacking Festival 2026

A great morning of cup stacking at Melbourn VC.
On Thursday 12th March, twelve Year 3–6's travelled to Melbourn Village College to participate in a 'SCSSP Sports Cup Stacking' Festival.
Everybody was very excited and looked very smart in their team kits! Throughout the morning, the two teams took part in various cup stacking challenges. Cup sizes ranged from 'giant sized', normal cup sized and 'mini' sized. The children all had a great time and found the challenges fun too.
Here's what the teams said afterwards:
George: The 3-3-3 was really good fun and I liked that I did it really fast, in 10 seconds. I would love to go again next year!
Emme: The really BIG cups to stack were fun, and how to stack them. It was a good challenge and I liked it.
Seth: 3 by 3 was great as it was quick, and I did a really fast time of 9 seconds.
Avery: It was great fun. All the activities, even if you haven't done them before, were easy to learn.
Luke: 3-3-3 cup stack was my favourite. You had to stack them three times in a pyramid shape, and you were timed to do it. The big giant cups and really mini cups were a great challenge, and I'd really love to go again!
Buzzy: I love cup stacking as there is a world record in it. I love stacking and restacking the cups back to normal. I would love to go again.
Mckenzie: The big cups were my best ones. I liked the challenges and would like to do it again next year!
Bentley: 3-3-3 was the best because it was fun being timed. I would like to go again.
Holly: Stacking the cups was really fun and taking part in all the challenges too.
Louie: 3-3-3 was great because you stack the cups, and you know the time it takes you to do it.
Noah: Working with my friends and supporting the younger children was my favourite part of the event.
Connor: 3-3-3 was brilliant because I like being timed while stacking the cups and doing it as quickly as I can.
I think from the feedback that the 3-3-3 was very popular and everybody enjoyed the event!
Thank you to Mrs Kent, Miss Ellson and Mrs Carter-Knight for accompanying the children.
