Eco Committee Tip 8

Read on to find out about how you can recycle batteries through school.

We will be taking part in the Big Battery Hunt this year.

Did you know that more than 20,000 tonnes of batteries end up in landfill sites - that's as heavy as 4000 elephants!

All the parts of a battery can be separated and used again to make new things.

- Recycled steel can be used in the construction industry

- Recycled metals and plastics can be used to make new batteries

- The chemicals can be processed and used in grass fertiliser

400 million batteries are currently recycled but this is just a small amount of the batteries that are solve in shops.

If you would like to recycle your batteries through school then please put them in a bag for the attention of Miss Lawton.

We hope that you will join in us in the Big Battery Hunt 2024! Let's see how many batteries we can collect and save from going to landfill.
