Celebrating Reading

Celebrating reading with others

The children at Swavesey Primary School have ‘dived’ into books this week, celebrating World Book Day and participating in our sponsored Readathon.

It has been wonderful listening to children read with enthusiasm and share books with children from different classes. We have really missed our paired reading sessions during the Covid period; it has been such a pleasure seeing the delight on children’s faces as they read and listen enthusiastically to each other whilst making new friends across the school.

Please encourage your child to keep reading and raise money for story-telling in hospitals. The last day for sponsorship is Wednesday 8th March. Please make payments online only and return your sponsor form to school so that we can claim gift-aid.

So far, our school has raised a staggering £570. Thank you for your generosity and support.

We hope you enjoy looking at our photos. If you look very carefully, you may spot some wonderful wooden spoon puppets that have been made by Reception children. They plan to create stories with them in their role play area.
