Year 1 and 2 perform 'Tidings and Traditions'

During the week beginning 4th December Year 1 and 2 showcased 3 fantastic performances of 'Tidings and Traditions'.

Year 1 and 2 worked incredibly hard to learn, practise and perform a variety of poems, dances and songs for the Christmas production of 'Tidings and Traditions'. Throughtout the performance the children told stories and traditions from around the world related to the traditions of Christmas. We started with the whole phase telling the story of St Nicholas - the first Father Christmas. Foxes then treated the audience to a song and poem all about Christmas Trees. Otters were up next and expertly told the story of Christmas Spiders (a tradition from Germany). Finally Squirrels gave us an all important reminder to be more eco-friendly at Christmas time with the help of 'Rudolph the Renewable-nosed Reindeer'. The performance ended with a lovely rendition of 'Christmas Alphabet' complete with Makaton signing.

We are incredibly proud of the children and hope that our audiences enjoyed the show!
