All smiles at the Girls' Football Tournament!

Resilence and teamwork at the Football Development Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday afternoon, 8 girls from Year 4 and 5, travelled to Cambourne FC to play in a 7 aside SCSSP Girls ‘New to Football’ Development Tournament.

The girls all played fantastically well throughout the afternoon, showing great resilience, despite a howling, cold wind!

Smiles were worn throughout the tournament, and although a couple of injuries occurred during games, everybody was able to carry on!

The girls showed great team spirit during the afternoon and made the staff and parents watching very proud.

The team qualified in Division 3, finishing in 4th place, with an overall 12th place out of 16 teams, which is fabulous!

This is what some of the team had to say afterwards…

Alice: ‘’I really enjoyed it. All the other teams did well too, and I really want to do this again next year!’’

Elsie: ‘’I had lots of fun with all my friends. I liked that we drew a lot of our games.’’

Maya: ‘’It was fun and enjoyable, and I would recommend it to other girls.’’

Lauren: ‘’We all played amazingly as a team. Despite the cold weather, nobody gave up.’’

Thank you to Mrs Namur and our trainee teachers, Miss Payne and Miss Davenport, for attending.
