Fantastic fun at the Year 4 Tennis Festival

All smiles, after an afternoon at a tennis festival.

On Wednesday 21st May, ten Year 4 girls nervously headed over to Impington VC, to take part in the annual SCSSP 'Tennis Festival'.

This event is always a great success, targeted at pupils who haven't necessarily had much experience of tennis previously and aims to promote confidence and try out skills in fun 'tennis-related' activities.

The team really did put every effort into enjoying the afternoon, and were acknowledged at the end of the event for their passion and great team work, which is fabulous!

This is what the team had to say about their experiences:

Ines: I enjoyed learning new skills, everyone said I did really well and was very passionate. I learnt that I was quite good at tennis, if I put my mind to it.

Roma: I enjoyed the obstacles. I was surprisingly good at my tennis skills and I got better at my throwing skills too!

Prisha: I enjoyed everything! It was a great experience and the sports leaders helping were fantastic! I enjoyed being with my friends and playing lots of tennis activities. I know that if I believe in myself, I can do things.

Kaila: I enjoyed trying new things and learning skills. I felt good about how I was doing, and the activities made me feel happy. I learnt that if I want to play tennis in the future, I have to practice more and try different skills.

Miriam: I enjoyed being with lots of my friends. I felt good when my friends wanted to be my partner and I received some stickers for showing passion and self-belief from the sports leaders. I learnt that I'm OK at tennis and playing sports with my friends makes me happy. I didn't enjoy not having my whole lunch hour, because we had to get on the mini-bus!

Molly: I enjoyed playing as a team. I felt good at the event because I never gave up and was part of everything. I learnt that I am good at tennis. I wish we could have had time to play matches too!

Ruby: I enjoyed the agility course the most.  I actually enjoyed everything! At the event, I felt good because I could do most of the skills. I learnt that I was better at tennis than I thought!

Annabelle: It was fun and exciting! I felt good when I was there. There were no winners, just fun games. I learnt that if I try a bit harder, I can get even better!

Caitlyn: I enjoyed having fun and I learnt that I can do tennis skills very well.

Poppy: I enjoyed having fun and doing the activities, but I didn't enjoy some of the running! I felt good because I was good at playing games. I learnt that to hit the ball, I need to stand further away!

Thank you to Mrs Kent and Ms Pipe for taking the team to the event :)
