Years 5s take to the roads for 'Bikeability' training.

A busy four days of bike-ability training for 40 Year 5 children!
Whilst the Year 6s were away on their residential, the Year 5 children were very busy on two wheels during the week.
On Monday, 40 children took part in a level 1 assessment on the playground and every child passed and progressed to level 2, which would be 'road-based'.
The weather wasn't particularly 'summer-like' most of the time, but the resilient cyclists put their coats on and took on the challenges of riding on roads with traffic and the inevitable 'potholes' to avoid too!
I haven't spoken to one of the children who didn't enjoy the experience. Four of the children who progressed to level 2 had only been cycling within the last few weeks, so they did amazingly well.
Everybody was awarded a level 2 certificate and badge in assembly on Friday and, with some feedback from the instructors, hopefully enjoy safe cycling for many years to come.
I had daily updates from the instructors, who couldn't compliment the children enough, and said they were a credit to the school, which is something they should be very proud of.
Congratulations to you all!
