Reception Leap into Space Learning!

This week Reception have thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of our new theme for learning - Space!

We have had a wonderful time this week, starting to learn all about space.

We spent some time thinking about some questions we would like to find out the answer to during our learning about Space. Some examples were 'How does a rocket take off?' and 'What is our atmosphere made of?'. We are looking forward to finding out the answers!

We started learning about astronauts and what they do. We found out about Tim Peake and Mae Jemison who are two famous astronauts. We used our fine motor skills to cut out and join some split pin astronauts.

In Drawing Club and Book Club (our Literacy sessions) we enjoyed the story Whatever Next! We loved hearing about how Baby Bear used his imagination on his trip to the moon.

We are really looking forward to finding out more about space over the coming weeks. The children have been working incredibly hard and using lots of their new learning in their play during Busy Learning time. Well done Reception!
